descriptive paragraph
The river is a beautiful and silent place. Experienced fishers and hunters use it in their sport. During the day its quietand peaceful but at night it's a whole new world. Smoke rises into the air as people gather round to tell old stories and tales.Hearing cheerful laughter as the children play. The ones who had to much to drink whipping and whooping. I'n my mind this is home.

essay
Matt Harris English 10 Final Draft
Although Mice and men is a sad book it is truly a show of good literature.
A good novel shows faults in society and in men. When Curley singles out Lennie just because he is bigger than him, that is a fault many people have. This is commonly known as little man syndrome. Basically that means that a good novel shows that internal problems exist in people just as well as external problems.
This novel shows many faults in society. It shows that people take things too seriously. For example Lennie wanted to touch a woman's red dress and she thought he was going to rape her; so she ran and told everyone exactly that. Then Lennie and George had to run for their lives. He didn't try to rape her; he just wanted to feel her dress.
A good novel not only show faults but shows capacity for greatness as well. An excellent example of this is when George stays with Lennie. Even though George's life would clearly be easier without Lennie, he still stays with him and takes care of him.
The point of all this is to prove that mice and men is good literature. Good literature shows that all regular people as well as greatness in them.
